Can you help me settle this scientific debate I was having with my colleagues today?

I should think so. There would be the language barrier to overcome, teaching an adult human how to do something entirely foreign is completely different than training a dog. It would have to learn how to plug in a toaster, operate the toaster. Even stuff like opening drawers and cabinets would be entirely foreign. What would it be like to see one of those twisty ties for the first time as an adult? It would be tough to teach for sure, but not impossible.
