Will bettas mess with sinking algae pellets?

More specifically, will it make them sick? I was thinking about getting a corydora catfish, and I've read they eat those and frozen brine shrimp. I know the shrimp are good since bettas eat them too, but will the betta leave the pellet alone or try to eat it?
